Last night our director sent out a message via brightwheel implementing new policies for our classrooms. As of now, the children are not allowed to change seats, tables or manipulative. Despite being masked we cannot get within 6 feet of our children to eliminate “close contact”. The only problem is that we have 20 children in a “pod” licensed for 10 and somehow this now falls on the teacher. Our children cannot nap without being on top of each other even if we spread into our one narrow hallway (Which is also yes, a fore hazard). Our guidelines change every day and depending on certain staff members. We have now become babysitters rather than educators. Our level collectively has a pow wow each morning to try to plan how we will survive this.
